ACCESSORIES
This is the section that holds everything else that a cross stitcher needs.
TRANSFER PAPER
Transfer paper is used to transfer your design onto fabric.
BEADS
We carry beads from Mill Hill. We have an assortment of glass seed beads, petite glass seed beads, Antique glass beads, frosted glass beads, size 6 glass beads and large and small bugle beads. If we do not stock one of their beads, we can order for you. To go with the beads, we have nymo thread and needles to go with.
MAGNIFIERS
We carry clip on to glasses magnifiers in magnification from 1.5 – 3. There are also the hands free variety that you can wear on your head and we have lamps that have a magnifier built in. The stock changes occasionally, so call and ask what we currently have on hand.
FLOSS ORGANIZERS
You need some way to keep your floss in order so you can find the color you need when you need it. We have several ways to do just that. Floss Away small bags with a ring to hold them together or cards you can wind the floss on and a box to hold the cards or LoRan makes cards you can attach the floss to. One of those systems could be right for you.
HOOPS
Hoops or ways to keep the fabric to be stitched under tension are important. Each one is good, but sure that you will prefer one over others for your own work. Here is what we have:
Wooden hoops are great -they have been historically used. They come in different diameters and widths and they feel good in your hands. In addition to round hoops, we have square and oval hoops to choose from.
Plastic hoops are inexpensive and work just fine.
Q Snap is a modern solution. The sides are interchangeable to adjust to the size for each piece you do. They are made from PVC and have a sleeve on each side to hold the fabric under tension. That makes them adaptable. The shape of the fabric under tension is now a rectangle , not a circle or oval.
EZ Stitch is another flexible solution . The kit comes with different lengths of rods with velcro and end pieces. You sew velcro to your cloth, attach to both rods and roll the cloth onto both beams for tension.
MINI STRETCHER BARS
The mini stretcher bars are designed to use for stitchers. They are smooth open the surfaces so fabric can easily be stretched over them. They come in sized from 5″ to 26″ and are fully interchangeable.
Needlepointers and some embroiderers use brass tacks for attaching fabric to stretcher bars. We carry a kit that has a magnetized tool to push the tacks into the bar and a tool to safely remove the tacks when done. We sell both the kit with tools and tacks or just the tacks alone.
Q Snap Stitching Frames
Q Snap frames are the original tube and clamp frame available to stitchers. The ribbed clamps hold the fabric secure while being stitched. They come in sets from 6″ x 6″ to 17″ x 17″. The pairs are all interchangeable so you can have the prop[er size frame for every piece you work on.
Lone Elm Lane Wooden Boxes
Lone Elm Lane Boxes is based out of Kansas and is owned and the woodworking done by Stephanie. All of her Shaker boxes are made one by one by hand by Stephanie. Her work is perfection and a perfect frame for a finished cross stitch!
Ground Walnut Shells
We carry bags of ground walnut shells for stuffing pincushions.
